About the Author

Hayley Openshaw

The Maxwell Fortune is Hayley Openshaw’s first novel. She enjoys visiting historical places where ideas of characters, their homes and ways of living come to light. Some of her favourite places to visit are, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath and York. Any place with Tudor black and white buildings, cathedrals with hidden crypts, museums and ghostly or historical crime sights is a must see.

Having started writing short stories recreationally, Hayley now mainly focuses on historical crime or supernatural novels. She says story writing begins with the most palpable and intense part of the story, and then ideas stem from there.

Hayley finds her imagination comes naturally and is inspired to commit her thoughts creatively to print.
